June Recap

How is June already over? This will be my first of hopefully many monthly recap posts. I have made it a priority to dedicate more time to my blog and felt that monthly recaps would be a great way to reflect on what I’m grateful for this month and what I’m looking forward to next month.

I don’t know about you but I feel like once July hits summer flies by. Thinking back to my childhood I always savored July and August before heading back to school.

Looking Back & Ahead

It’s not saying much, but this last month was probably one of the best months I’ve had all year. 2020 has been strange to say the least. St. Louis started to open back up the community in mid-June and a small sense of normalcy returned. While it’s still important to wear a mask while venturing out in public, I feel that I can get out of the house when my mental health needs it.

I have said this before but COVID has made me really grateful for the small, every day things I used to take for granted. Looking back on this month, here’s a few things that happened or we did that I am especially grateful for:

Lucas’ cousin Maddie married her soulmate Jacob during a small, intimate wedding at one of Hermman’s most beautiful wineries
My Hosta plants transferred from my Grandfather’s garden to mine bloomed for the first time this year
We got to revisit our wedding venue for the first time since booking in early March
Lucas’ mom had a veteran’s brick placed in his hometown of Hermann to give thanks to his military service. We saw it for the first time in person this month
